How do I contact the Scabine team for help?
The best way to reach us is through this contact form. We’re still a small team, so to serve as many customers as thoroughly as possible, we don’t take phone calls. Please make sure to add service@scabine.com to your contacts, and check your spam folder and any active mail filters to ensure that you receive our response!
If there are any issues with your order, please reach out to us within one hour of placing the order.
Is shipping really free?
To the entire contiguous United States, yes!
For non-contiguous U.S. states (Alaska and Hawaii) we have an additional shipping cost of $69 per Scabine or Chunk and $19 per Cover Set or Liner Set.
For orders headed to Canada, shipping is $69 per Scabine or Chunk and $39 per Cover Set or Liner Set.
How long can I leave products in the box after they arrive?
The Scabine can be stored in its box for up to 8 weeks after delivery, but the sooner you can unbox, the better. The Scabine travels to you tightly compressed and wrapped up like a foam burrito — but the longer it’s in there, the longer it will take to pop back to form and un-wrinkle, so we recommend opening your box shortly after it lands on your front doorstep!
Chunk ships uncompressed and can be left in the box as long as you’d like, but must be stored in a climate-controlled environment.
Please note that any compressed Scabine left in the box longer than 8 weeks from delivery will not be covered by our product warranty, and all unopened returns must be initiated within 30 days of delivery.
How long will it take my Scabine to expand after I open it?
Because the Scabine travels to you in a tightly compressed burrito, we ask that you give it one to two weeks after opening to fully fluff back to form. Foam is super malleable, so it's not uncommon for it to look a little wrinkly and smushed in certain places right after opening. However, it is 100% ready to be played with! We've found that having your kiddos play with the Scabine helps the foam find its original shape faster than it would otherwise.

Can I wash my Cover Set?
Yes, with ease! Our fabric is very durable, and machine washing works great — just unzip the covers from the foam and zip them back up before throwing them in the machine.
To preserve color, wash on the coldest setting on your machine with only pieces of the same color, and hang dry to prevent shrinking. We recommend using clear-color detergents like All's Free Clear. For the small stuff, you can spot clean with a moist cloth or a carpet/upholstery cleaning solution.
What cleaning solution do you recommend?
Over the years, we've compiled a list of common stains from Scabine users, so we have a lot of options! We tested the following products to help you know what to reach for first. When spot cleaning, use these products with a damp washcloth and make sure to take the cover off before cleaning, so that the stain isn't absorbed into your foam. After spot cleaning, wash your covers on the coldest machine setting available and hang to dry.
How do I wash my Liner Set?
With a couldn’t-be-simpler three-step process:
- Zip up each piece
- Wash on cold by themselves
- Air dry
If this process feels familiar, you’re right – it’s the same process for washing Cover Sets! If you have any direct stains to the Liner Set, dilute some Dawn dish soap in water and gently remove the stain with a clean cloth.
How do I clean the foam?
You can spot clean your foam by taking a wet rag and your favorite upholstery cleaner to the product — we've tested Folex and like it best. Once you're done, make sure your foam is completely dry before putting the covers back on. You can set the foam near a fan or open window to help speed up this process.
What if pet hair is an issue at my house?
As with any upholstery, fur can cling to our fabrics a bit, so many people like to match the color of their product to hide it. But unlike other furniture, fur is extra easy to wipe off — vacuuming or sweeping with a lint roller both work like a charm! You can pick up or flip each piece effortlessly, so there aren't any nooks and crannies and unreachable spots, only simple flat surfaces.
